Leaders of these transportation agencies led a safety ride/walk/drive from the Missouri History Museum to the St. Louis downtown bicycle station representing the importance of "sharing the road." 	Modot Minute March 13, 2012 The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has approved a $10 million increase to MoDOT's cost-share program. Under the program, cities, counties and private developers share the cost for highway improvements with MoDOT. Since the cost-share program began in 1998, MoDOT has allocated $379 million to cost-share projects. In return, the state received $988 million worth of improvements because communities shared the project costs. About 175000 window clings promoting seat belt use have been distributed at Missouri high schools in preparation for an unannounced Seat Belt Spotter Day this month. Teams of spotters will be out looking for 300 random teens wearing their seat belts and prominently displaying the window cling. 	Modot Minute March 06, 2012 The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has changed leadership. Rudy Farber, Neosho, will serve as the commission's chair for the next year, while Grace Nichols, St. Charles, will assume the position of vice-chair. Farber had been serving as vice-chair and Nichols as chair. Farber was appointed to the commission in March 2007. Nichols has served on the commission since March 2008. Both of their terms expire in March 2013. MoDOT and its partners have updated the Missouri local public agency manual for transportation. Local public agencies use the online guide to ensure compliance with federal funding requirements. A 30-day public comment period on the revised manual begins March 1.
