	New hyaena den The hyaenas moved den about a week ago. This is a new den we didn't know about and as can be seen by all the grass growing on it, it hasn't been used for some time. 	Puzzles' last day The wild dogs found themselves at the top end of Malilangwe dam where again the dogs were unsure of this large expanse of water. As usual the pups were curious but terrified. Puzzles in her over-loaded pregnant state didn't bother to venture down, using the bare minimum of energy only when she needed to. This is probably her last day of carrying that load of pups. 	Dogs on Buffalo Today the dogs are going big, and they're not just taking on a lone buffalo bull, but the whole herd. Just 10 dogs soon have the herd of 200 buffalo on the stampede. A young bull is keen to play the game but soon loses his nerve. As long as the buffalo are moving, whether away or towards the dogs, the game is on. 	Krazy mud kids The little elephant calves couldn't believe their luck when mom arrived at the mud wallow. Even she was keen, but she didn't stay long. 	Sitting on the fence The dreaded fence now finds the wild dogs on the other side, BUT Jiggy is on this side. AND the pack have successfully killed a waterbuck against the fence. The pack are keen to get to Jiggy but Jiggy is keen to get to the waterbuck. With the fence blocking their natural movement I cut a hole and drag the carcass through. 	Personal feast with wild dogs The wild dogs had been on the move for 3 hours this morning when they arrived at the airstrip with it's many impala. The chase was on and when I caught up with the dogs they'd already killed an adult male impala. I was soon out the vehicle moving around them filming them on the kill, up close and personal. 	Scraps for backs The wild dogs had already finished off one impala kill this morning and this was their second. But now a couple of hyaenas had barged in. The dogs took the fight to them but not too aggressively as they were already well fed. 	Deceptive Dawn It's a deceptive misty bushveld dawn. The wild dogs have killed a kudu calf that came playing with his friend towards them. When the pups ran at them the kudu stood wondering what this was. The pups were bewildered that they didn't run and were unsure what to do. But when the kudu did turn to run this one wasn't so lucky. 	Concerned Observer The elephants moved in to wallow at Ganyani pan. Big ones and littles ones. While the adults got to wallow in a serious way, the little ones were just having fun. But for an even smaller observer, a Knob-billed Duck, this was all a bit much as she watched them trample the area where she possibly had eggs or even little ducklings hidden in the grass. The males rub the scent glands on their foreheads on thorny branches. Then approach each other hesitantly to sniff the glands on the more dominant animals forehead.
