	ROBERT J. HESSE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL REUNION- FINAL Wow- what a night! Many thanks to all who came out to Clancy's for the Hesse Reunion. Nobody really knew what to expect, but what happened was a night that just FLEW by. No one left Clancy's a stranger to anyone and phone numbers and addresses were shared by folks just catching up with each other. Yearbook pictures, stories about the neighborhood, growing up around Hesse made some of the best laughs and greatest stories we have ever heard in a long time! We will stand by and see what Ms. Thurston wants to do, we are going to let her tell us when it will be the right time for her to come out to see us. Rest assured, when she green lights the idea, I will pop up an informational video ASAP. We started the first video for the reunion on a very cold January Sunday, then a arctic four square game video in front of Erin Stewart's folks home,one with Patty to different videos around the old subdivision and we enjoyed making every one of them (Thanks to Patty, Erin and Carol for being in the videos). Now the part that I truly dislike... This will be the last video for the Hesse kids. We thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to watch them, we hope you may of enjoyed them. 	WHO IS ELROY "CRAZYLEGS" HIRSCH? "Elroy "Crazylegs" Hirsch (June 17, 1923 -- January 28, 2004) was an American football running back and receiver for the Los Angeles Rams and Chicago Rockets, nicknamed for his unusual running style.Hirsch was born in Wausau, Wisconsin. He developed his running style running cross legged over four square cement sidewalk blocks in his home town.[citation needed] Hirsch played for legendary coach Win Brockmeyer during his time at Wausau High School. Hirsch played his first college season with the University of Wisconsin Badgers in 1942. His nickname was permanently affixed to him by Chicago Daily News sportswriter Francis Powers who, upon witnessing him play for the Badgers against the Great Lakes Naval Station in 1942, wrote "His crazy legs were gyrating in six different directions, all at the same time; he looked like a demented duck."[1] His commitment to the United States Navy V-12 program in United States Marine Corps required him to transfer to the University of Michigan.
