I don't believe in taking a pragmatic approach to issues of Religion, Rights and Science ultimately determines your political affiliation. For me the journey though "The Great Ongoing Debate" (aka America) is paramount. Some hear what I have said about various subjects and have confused me with Liberals all my life, but I contend that my viewpoints, when examined closely, are derived from the strictest of TRUE AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE values, at the center of which -- and not to incidentally the greatest -- is self-determination. That's why I believe America is truly "the shining city" on the hill. Because in other countries the right for a woman to have an abortion isn't even open for debate. In other countries if you embrace and "alternative" lifestyle, rather than your right to marry being objected to, your right to live/exist is called into question.
